JOURNEY TO ANOTHER FOREST
Table Theatre, Lithuania

(E)migration is a broad concept. It doesn’t matter if you are emigrating from your old house to a new one, or to another country, or maybe to another continent – the basis of the experience is the same – you leave behind the paths you knew so well, your friends and memories. Along the way, it seems we lose something – our memories, attachments or people dear to us.

The “baggage” brought by migrants arriving in other countries is highly diverse: traditions, faith, habits, language... This is perfectly conveyed by Issa Watanabe, the artist of the wordless book Migrants, who is “humanizing” animals. We can see a lion, a sheep, a fox, and a goose in the migrant caravan. They feel united in this state and take care of each other.

In this play of shadows, created using simple, everyday objects, the creators seek to touch spectators’ hearts, evoke compassion and rekindle love for their home.
