INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE BETWEEN LITHUANIAN AND POLISH PUPPET THEATRES IN VILNIUS AND POZNAN

From 18 to 25 of February 2017 the Vilnius theatre “Lėlė” will tour in Poland and will take part in the 4th International festival of the form theatre Materia Prima in Cracow, where among the many inspiring performances from a variety of international performing arts companies from all over the world the Lithuanian show “Sandman” (director Gintarė Radvilavičiūtė, designer Renata Valčik) will be presented two times. Meanwhile, on the 15th of February the show is presented to the Vilnius audiences for the only time this quarter.
 
After performing the two shows in the festival in Cracow on the 21st and 22nd of February, the “Sandman” team will transfer to Poznan, where in collaboration with the local Animation theatre “Sandman” will be performed for the spectators in Poznan Children’s Art Centre on the 24th of February.
 
When the tour in Poland is finished, the “Lėlė“ team will be preparing to welcome the Polish puppeteers in Vilnius. On the 3rd of March the Poznan Animation Theatre will perform a show for youth and adults “Moliere” (director Neville Tranter) based on the life and works of Jean-Baptiste Poquelin (also known as Molière).
 
It is also worthwhile mentioning that in mid-April the famous Australian puppeteer N. Tranter will lead a workshop for the actors of Vilnius theatre “Lėlė”. According to the artistic director of “Lėlė” theatre, a possibility for N. Tranter to create a show in Vilnius next year is also being discussed.
