Born in 1969, in Vievis. After graduating Vievis Secondary School, in 1985-1989 he attended J. Tallat-Kelpša Music School (saxophone class). In 1989-1993 he studied opera vocals at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre (singing tutor – V. Daunoras), and from 1994 until 1997, I. Jankaitis studied acting in the course of J. Vaitkus (including music).

I.Jankaitis performed in the plays directed by J. Vaitkus, E. Nekrošius, C. Graužinis, O. Koršunovas, he mastered classical music shows for children. As a vocalist, he performed songs created by A. Martinaitis, A. Kučinskas, A. Jasenka, G. Puskunigis. I. Jankaitis is still recording animated movies (Shrek, Princess and the Frog). Since 1998 he has been working in Vilnius Theatre Lėlė, and creating music for the performances of the Theatre.
